참으로 여러분이 전에는 어둠이었지만 지금은 주님 안에서 빛이니 빛의 자녀로서 걸어가십시오. 빛의 열매는 모든 선과 의와 진리 안에 있습니다. 주님을 기쁘시게 하는 것이 무엇인지 시험하십시오.

그리고 열매 맺지 못하는 어둠의 일들에 참여하지 말고 도리어 책망하십시오. 참으로 그런 일들은 그들에 의하여 비밀스럽게 행해지는데 말하기조차도 부끄러운 것입니다. 책망받는 모든 일은 빛에 의하여 드러납니다. 모든 일을 드러나게 하는 것은 빛입니다. 말씀하시기를, "잠자는 자여, 깨어나라. 죽음에서 일어나라. 그 하마쉬아흐께서 네게 비추실 것이다."라고 하셨습니다.

에페소 성도들에게(에베소서)5장 8~14절

Ephesians 5:8-14:
For ye were once darkness, and now light (ohr) in the Master, as children of light walk ye,
for the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth, proving what is well-pleasing to the Master.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of the darkness — and rather even convict, for the things in secret done by them it is a shame even to speak of, and all the things reproved by the light are manifested, for everything that is manifested is light.

Wherefore He saith:

Arouse thyself, thou who art sleeping, and arise out of the dead, and the Messiah shall shine upon thee.
