TEHILLIM (Psalm) 52

 

1 ¶ WHY do you boast of evil,

O mighty man?

Your tongue devises injustices

against the innocent every day.

2 It is like a sharp razor,

working deceitfully.

3 You love evil more than good,

and lying

rather than speaking righteousness.

4 You love all that speak evil

and all deceitful tongues.

5 Therefore,

God shall overthrow you,

and He shall root you out

of your dwelling place,

and out of the land of the living.

6 ¶ Then

shall the righteous see and rejoice,

and shall trust in YAHWEH.

7 And they shall say:

Behold, this is the man:

who trusted not in God,

but trusted

in the abundance of his riches,

and boasted in his possessions.

8 But I am like a green olive tree,

in the house of God.

I will always trust:

in God’s unfailing [ahavah] love.

9 I will praise Thee for ever,

because Thou hast done it,

and I will proclaim Thy [Shem] name,

before Thy saints for generations.
