내 백성인 귀인의 마차들 사이에 나를 두셨네.

5. 나를 너무 당황하게 하는 네 눈을 내 앞에서 돌려라.

 

네 머리채는 길르앋 산에서 뛰어 내려오는 염소 떼 같고,

 

6. 네 이는 씻는 곳에서 올라온 암 양 떼 같으니

 

그 모두가 쌍둥이를 낳아 빠진 것이 없고,

 

7. 네 관자놀이는 네 너울 속에서 석류조각 같구나.

 

8. 왕비가 육십 명이고 후궁이 팔십 명이고 시녀들이 수도 없이 많지만

 

9. 내 완전한 비둘기는 오직 한 명이다.

 

그녀는 자기 어머지의 외동딸이니 그녀를 낳은 자에게 귀한 딸이다.

 

딸들이 그녀를 보고 그녀를 행복하다고 하며 왕비들과 후궁들이 그녀를 칭찬하다.

 

10. 동이 트는 것처럼 빛나고, 달처럼 아름답고 해처럼 순수하며 

 

깃발들을 세운 군대처럼 위협적인 이 여인이 누구인가?

 

11. (여자)견과(堅果) 동산으로 내가 내려갔다, 

 

대추야자의 싹이 트는 것을 보려고 포도나무의 꽃이 핀 것을 보려고 

 

석류나무들의 꽃이 핀 것을 보려고.

O you most beautiful among women ?
Where has your beloved turned aside,
that we may seek him with you ?

My beloved has gone down into his garden,
to the beds of spices,
to feed in the gardens
and to (gather lilies).

I am my beloved’s,
and my beloved is mine;

¶ You are beautiful and desirable,
O my beloved, comely as Jerusalem,
and esteemed as one chosen among beauties.

Turn away your eyes from me,
for they have overcome me,
your hair is like a flock of goats

to see the fruit of the valley
and to see whether the vine had blossomed

What will you see in the Shulamite,
who comes down joyfully,
like the rejoicing of a host ?
