1. 모쉐는 미드얀의 제사장인 그의 장인 이트로의 양 떼를 치고 있었다. 

 

그는 양 떼를 광야 뒤쪽(혹은 '서쪽)으로 이끌어 하나님의 산인 호렙으로 갔다.

 

 

2. (YHUH)יהוה의 천사가 가시떨기나무 가운데 있는 불꽃 안에서 그에게 나타나셨다.

 

모쉐가 보니, 보라, 그 가시떨기나무가 불에 타고 있는데도 그 가시떨기나무가 삼켜지지 않았다.

3. 모쉐가 말하였다. "자, 내가 돌아가서 이 대단한 광경을 보아야겠다. 왜 이 가시떨기나무가 타지 않는가?"

 

4. 모쉐가 보려고 발길을 돌리는 것을 (YHUH)יהוה께서 보셨다.

 

하나님께서 그 가시떨기나무 가운데서 그를 부르시며 말씀하셨다. "모쉐야, 모쉐야," 그가 말하였다. "예."

 

5. 그가 말씀하셨다. "이리로 가까이 오지 마라. 네 발에서 신발을 벗어라.

 

이는 네가 서 있는 그곳은 거룩한 땅이기 때문이다.

 

6. 그리고 그가 말씀하셨다. "나는 네 조상의 하나님 곧 아브라함의 하나님, 이쯔핰의 하나님, 야아콥의 하나님이다."

 

모쉐는 그 하나님을 쳐다보는 것이 두려워서 자기 얼굴을 숨겼다.

 

7. (YHUH)יהוה께서 말씀하셨다. "내가 미쯔라임에 있는 내 백성의 괴로움을 정녕 보았다.

 

그리고 내가 그 공사감독관들 때문에 생기는 그들의 울부짖음을 들었고 그들의 고통들을 알았다.

 

 

 

8. 그래서 내가 미쯔라임인의 손에서 그들을 구하여 그 땅으로부터 좋고 넓은 땅

곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅으로 그들을 올라가게 하려고 내려가니

곧 크나안인과 헽인과 에모리인과 프리지인과 히뷔인과 예부스인이 사는 곳으로 내려간다.

 

וארד להצילו מיד מצרים ולהעלתו מן הארץ ההוא אל ארץ טובה ורחבה אל ארץ זבת חלב ודבש אל מקום הכנעני והחתי והאמרי והפרזי והחוי והיבוסי​

9. 이제, 보라, 이스라엘 자손의 울부짖음이 내게 왔고, 또 미쯔라임인들이 그들을 압제하는 그 압제도 내가 보았다.

 

​ועתה הנה צעקת בני ישראל באה אלי וגם ראיתי את הלחץ אשר מצרים לחצים אתם

 

10. 이제 가거라. 내가 파르오에게 너를 보내니 미쯔라임에서 내 백성 이스라엘 자손을 나오게 하여라."

 

ועתה לכה ואשלחך אל פרעה והוצא את עמי בני ישראל ממצרים 

 

11. 모쉐가 하나님께 말하였다. "제가 누구라고 파르오에게 가서 미쯔라임에서 이스라엘 자손을 나오게 하겠습니까?

12. 그가 말씀하셨다. "참으로 내가 너와 함께 있으리니(키 에흐예 임마크) 이것이 내가 너를 보내는 표징이다. 

 

네가 미쯔라임에서 그 백성을 나오게 할 때 너희가 이 산에서 그 하나님을 섬길 것이다."

 

ויאמר כי אהיה עמך וזה לך האות כי אנכי שלחתיך בהוציאך את העם ממצרים תעבדון את האלהים על ההר הזה

 

13. 모쉐가 하나님께 말하였다.

 

"보십시오, 제가 이스라엘 자손에게 가서 '당신들 조상의 하나님께서 당신들에게 나를 보내셨다."라고 말을 할 때

 

그들이 '그의 이름이 무엇이냐?라고 내게 말하면 제가 그들에게 무엇이라고 말해야 합니까?"

14. 하나님께서 모쉐에게 말씀하셨다. "에흐예 아쉐르 에흐예-내가 있을 곳에 내가 있을 것이다."

 

그리고 그가 말씀하셨다. "이렇게 너는 이스라엘 자손에게 말하여라. 

 

'에흐예(에흐예 아쉐르 에흐예의 준말)가 너희에게 나를 보내셨다.'"

 

15. 하나님께서 다시 모쉐에게 말씀하셨다. "이렇게 너는 이스라엘 자손에게 말하여라.

 

'(YHUH)יהוה, 너희 조상의 하나님, 곧 아브라함의 하나님, 이쯔핰의 하나님, 야아콥의 하나님께서 너희에게 나를 보내셨다. 

 

이것이 영원한 내 이름이며, 이것이 대대로 내 기억이다.'

 

16. 가서 이스라엘 장로들을 모아서 그들에게 말하여라.

 

'(YHUH)יהוה, 너희 조상의 하나님, 곧 아브라함과 이쯔핰과 야아콥의 하나님께서 내게 나타나셨다. 

 

내가 너희를 정녕 방문하여 미쯔라임에서 너희에게 행해진 일들을 보고

 

17. 말한다. 내가 너희를 미쯔라임의 괴로움으로부터 크나안인과 헽인과 에모리인과 프리지인과 히뷔인과 예부스인의 땅

 

곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅으로 올라가게 할 것이다.'

 

18. 그들은 네 소리를 들을 것이다.

 

그러면 너와 이스라엘 장로들은 미쯔라임 왕에게 가서 '(YHUH)יהוה, 곧 이브리인들의 하나님께서 우리와 만나셨다. 

 

그래서 지금 제발 우리로 사흘 길을 광야로 가게 하여 우리 하나님 (YHUH)יהוה께 제사 드리게 하여라.'라고 말해야 한다.

 

19. 그러나 강한 손으로 치지 않으면 미쯔라임 왕이 너희가 가는 것을 허락하지 않을 것을 내가 안다.

 

20. 그래서 나는 내 손을 보내어 온갖 놀라운 일들을 미쯔라임 가운데서 행하여 미쯔라임을 칠 것이다.

 

그리고 나서 그가 너희를 보낼 것이다.

 

21. 그리고 나는 미쯔라임인들의 눈에 이 백성에 대한 호감을 주어서 너희가 갈때 빈손으로 가지 않게 될 것이다.

 

22. 각 여자는 이웃 여자와 자기 집에 같이 사는 여자에게 은패물들과 금패물들과 옷들을 요청할 것이다.

 

그래서 너희는 너희 아들들과 딸들을 치장하고 미쯔라임인들을 벗길 것이다."

Exodus 3:1-22:

And Moses hath been feeding the flock of Jethro his father-in-law,
priest of Midian, and he leadeth the flock behind the wilderness,
and cometh in unto the mount of God, to Horeb.

And there appeareth unto him a (Angel) of YHVH in a flame of fire,
out of the midst of the bush, and he seeth, and lo, the bush is burning with fire, and the bush is not consumed.

And Moses saith: Let me turn aside, I pray thee,
and I see this great appearance, wherefore is the bush not burned ?

And YHVH seeth that he hath turned aside to see,
and God calleth unto him out of the midst of the bush, and saith:
Moses, Moses — and he saith: Here am I.

And He saith:
Come not near hither: cast thy shoes from off thy feet,
for the place on which thou art standing is holy ground.

He saith also:
I am the God of thy father, God of Abraham, God of Isaac,
and God of Jacob and Moses hideth his face,
for he is afraid to look towards God.

And YHVH saith:
I have certainly seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt,
and their cry I have heard,
because of its exactors, for I have known its pains.

And I (GO down) —> to deliver it out of the hand of the Egyptians,
and to cause it to go up —> out of the land,
unto a land good and broad, unto a land flowing with milk and honey,
unto the place of the Canaanite,
and the Hittite, and the Amorite,
and the Perizzite, and the Hivite,
and the Jebusite.

And now, lo, the cry of the sons of Israel hath come in unto Me,
and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians
are oppressing them.

and now, come, and I SEND thee unto Pharaoh,
and bring thou out My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.

And Moses saith unto God,
Who am I, that I go unto Pharaoh,
and that I bring out the sons of Israel from Egypt ?

and He saith:
Because I am with thee, and this is to thee the SIGN:
that I have sent thee: — in thy bringing out the people from Egypt,
ye do serve God on this mount. !

And Moses saith unto God,
Lo, I am coming unto the sons of Israel,
and have said to them: — the God of your fathers hath sent me unto you,
and they have said to me:
What is His name ? what do I say unto them ?

And God saith unto Moses:
I AM THAT WHICH I AM !
He saith also: Thus dost thou say to the sons of Israel,
I AM (YHVH / Yahweh) — hath sent me unto you.

And God saith again unto Moses,
Thus dost thou say unto the sons of Israel:
Yahweh, God of your fathers,
God of Abraham, God of Isaac,
and God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you,
this is My name—to the age,
and this My memorial, to generation—generation.

Go, and thou hast gathered the elders of Israel,
and hast said unto them: Yahweh, God of your fathers,
hath appeareth unto me, God of Abraham, Isaac,
and Jacob, saying: I have certainly inspected you,
and that which is done to you in Egypt.

And I say, I bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt,
unto the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite,
and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite,
and the Jebusite, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

And they have hearkened to thy voice, and thou hast entered,
thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt,
and ye have said unto him, Yahweh, God of the Hebrews,
hath met with us; and now, let us go, we pray thee,
a journey of three days into the wilderness,
and we sacrifice to Yahweh our God.

And I—I have known that the king of Egypt
doth not permit you to go, unless by a strong hand,

and I have put forth My hand,
and have smitten Egypt with all My wonders,
which I do in its midst—and afterwards he doth send you away.

And I have given the (grace) of this people in the eyes of the Egyptians,
and it hath come to pass, when ye go, ye go NOT empty:

And every woman hath asked from her neighbour:
and from her who is sojourning in her house:
vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments,
and ye have put them on your sons and on your daughters,
and have spoiled the Egyptians.
