인자는 죽은 자를 찾아 구원하려고 왔다.

​1.예슈아께서 예리호로 들어가서 지나가시는데

2.그때 이름이 잨카이란 사람이 있었다. 그는 세관장이었고 부자였다.

3.그는 예슈아가 어떤 분인지 보려고 애썼으나 군중 때문에 볼 수 없었다. 이는 그가 키가 작기 때문이었다.

4.그가 앞으로 달려가서 돌무화과나무에 올라갔으니 이는 막 지나가시는 예슈아를 보기 위함이었다.

5.예슈아께서 그곳에 오시자 그를 보시며 말씀하셨다. "잨카이야, 빨리 내려오너라. 참으로 오늘 네 집에 내가 묵어야겠다."

6.그가 빨리 내려와서 기뻐하며 그를 집으로 맞이하였다.

7.모두가 그를 보고 수군거리며 말하기 시작하였다. "저 사람이 죄인의 집에 묵으려고 들어갔다."

8.그때 잨카이가 일어서서 주님께 말하였다. "보십시오, 주님. 제 소유의 절반을 가난한 자들에게 주겠습니다. 또 만일 제가 어떤 사람의 것을 사취(詐取)한 것이 있으면 네 배로 갚겠습니다."

9.예슈아께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "오늘 구원이 이 집에 임했으니 이는 이 사람도 아브라함의 자손이기 때문이다.

10.인자는 죽은 자를 찾아 구원하려고 왔다."

루카(누가복음)19장 1~10절

Luke 19:1-10:

And having entered, He (Yeshua) was passing through Jericho (Its moon), and lo, a man, by name called Zacchaeus, and he was a chief tax-gatherer, and he was rich, and he was seeking to see Yeshua, who He is, and was not able for the multitude, because in stature he was small.

And having run forward before, he went up on a sycamore, that he may see Him, because through that way He was about to pass by.

And as Yeshua came up to the place, having looked up, He saw him, and said unto him:

Zacchaeus, having hastened, come down ! . . for to-day in thy house it behoveth Me to remain;'

and he having hastened did come down, and did receive Him rejoicing.

And having seen it . . they were all murmuring, saying: - with a sinful man He went in to lodge !

And Zacchaeus having stood, said unto the Master: Lo, the half of my goods, Master, I give to the poor, and if of any one anything I did take by false accusation, I give back fourfold.

And Yeshua said unto him—'To-day salvation did come to this house, inasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham (exalted father), for the Son of Man came to seek and to save that was lost.
